If I find that Inside Out and Slaves And Masters are underrated, then what about Mystery Eyes ? It's in my opinion The Ugly Duckling!

Released in 1997 in Japan, in 1998 in Europe, Mystery Eyes didn't received good feedbacks and suffered from a lack of attention. It was mainly due to Michael Bormann's situation : he was busy. In same time, Michael worked with Alex Beyrodt on project THE SYGNET, plus wrote third JADED HEART's album and played with DORO in Japan. Does it mean that Mystery Eyes wasn't well-produced or was quickly produced ? No, it doesn't.

It is a "no-easy-listening" opus but a pleasant grower (with sadly some fillers in the end - too many following sweet songs). My favorite song is She's Not You and its happy air! I also appreciate Heaven Is Falling (and its wonderful/epic two minute solo introduction), Walk On A Wire and Can't Stand The Heartache.
